Floriade: Reimagined

01 June 2020

The ACT Government has decided not to proceed with Floriade and NightFest in Commonwealth Park this year out of concern for the health and safety of visitors, staff and volunteers.   Instead, Floriade: Reimagined will ensure the beauty of Floriade continues in 2020.

Floriade: Reimagined will run from 12 September to 11 October 2020 and see Floriade and NightFest adapted to a new format to adhere to public health restrictions around mass gathering and physical distancing.

The flowers that would have been in Commonwealth Park have now been distributed around Canberra.  YRA has secured 2650 tulip bulbs and annuals to plant in Yarralumla as part of Floriade: Reimagined.

We are proposing to plant the bulbs and plants at the Shops, the pocket park on the corner of Novar and Hooker St and at the two entry signs to Yarralumla on Novar Street and Hopetoun Circuit

The plantings at the entry signs will be in wheelbarrows so if you have an old wheelbarrow you can donate for this purpose or if you'd like to help plant and care for the bulbs please email Jan Tankiang
